Grilled Flank Steak
 
  • 1 flank steak (2 lbs.)
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup lemon
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
 
Score steak diagonally across the grain at 3/4" intervals. Place steak in a ziplock bag or shallow dish. Combine oil and remaining ingredients in a small bowl. Pour marinade over steak. Seal or cover and refrigerate for 8 hours.
 
Preheat grill on MEDIUM. Grill steak 6-8 minutes on each side with the lid open. Baste the last 4 minutes with the remaining marinade to ensure tenderness.
